Financial & Insurance Information

We welcome the opportunity to work with those who do not have dental insurance. Cash discounts, payment plans and other financial arrangements are available. We invite you to talk to our patient coordinator to discuss these options.

We will gladly work with your insurance company to optimize your coverage. However, if you have insurance and find that Dr. Dastrup is not listed as a Preferred Provider, please consider the following.  Preferred Provider status with an insurance company is a paid endorsement, based on minimal qualifications – not patient satisfaction or professional track record. It is a marketing device based on the probability that insured patients, after paying their premiums, will choose an in-network dentist for the higher percentage of coverage. What the general public typically doesn’t consider is that the “preferred” dentist is paying an average of 30% of their income to the insurance company. Far too often, this financial arrangement leads dentists (and patients) to choose those procedures that are subsidized by insurance, even though they may not be what are best for the patient’s teeth.

Your treatment plan will include a breakdown of all applicable fees, and we will inform you of all costs before treatment is administered. For the convenience of our patients, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. We also offer financing through CareCredit to help make your treatment more affordable. Discounts are also available for patients who pay in full at the onset of treatment and for senior citizens. Charges are payable at the time of treatment.

Please ask a member of our staff, and we will review our payment options to accommodate your financial needs.

If special arrangements are needed, please talk to our office manager prior to receiving service.

Additionally, we will submit all insurance claims for you. We will fully attempt to help you receive full insurance benefits; however, you are personally responsible for your account, and we encourage you to contact us if your policy has not paid within 30 days.
